Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. She grew up in an multiethnic family. Her father Elroy is Sri Lankan (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother Kim is a Malaysian. Her brothers are younger and one older sister. Because of the turmoil in the country, her parents moved to Bahrain during the 1980s. She was given a scholarship to study at the University of Sydney in Sydney Australia after she had completed her education in Bahrain. As a lover of culture and different languages, she attended Berlitz Language School in which she studied Spanish and honed her French and Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 was crown in March 2006; she was also a part of Miss Universe 2006 Following her win of the Miss Sri Lanka title in 2006, she entered the world of television. She hosted a program on Sri Lanka's business called Lanka Business Report. Padukone was the daughter of badminton player Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and raised in Bangalore. As a teenager Padukone competed in a variety of National badminton competitions. She eventually gave up the sport when she decided to be a professional fashion model. Padukone was born in Mangalore, India. Her native language Konkani is her mother tongue. Padukone is located situated in Kundapura Taluk located in Udupi located in Karnataka State, India is where her family is derived from. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend who retired in the late 1980s. The mother of her daughter, a travel agency, also hails from this area.
